Fantasy AMS

fantasyams1Fantasy boasts a lineage of National Champions. She is sired by the two-time AHR National Champion, Aristique TOF. Aristique in turn is sired by the AHR Gold Classified and former AHR National Champion, Aristocrat TOF.

On the other side of Fantasy’s pedigree, is another AHR National Champion. Fantasy’s dam, Fantasia RVF, is sired by the Austrian imported and former AHR National Champion Stallion, Nobleman TOF. Fantasy’s dam has consistently produced offspring with elegance, type, and refinement that have all been at the top of their age-groups at many shows and sales.

Fantasy is a full sister to “Fire and Ice AMS”, more commonly referred to as ‘Ruby’, who is another one of our broodmares. Unfortunately, Ruby suffered a traumatic hoof injury in the summer of 2008 that resulted in is permanent and slowly progressive damage to one of her hind legs. This devastating injury occurred to Ruby before we had the opportunity to campaign her on our Genesis Farm show string or even allow her to complete her official AHR Inspection and Classification. Therefore, Ruby has been only a broodmare on our farm without any show or classification results behind her. In our hearts though, we were aware of the full potential that she didn’t have the opportunity to demonstrate at the shows or for AHR Inspection.

Ruby delivered a breathtakingly beautiful colt for us in February 2009 out of our AHR GOLD Classified stallion, Alfa of Genesis. Knowing that Ruby’s condition will continue to slowly deteriorate and that she will never be sound, when we saw the colt that resulted from crossing Ruby and Alfa’s genetics, we instantly sought out to purchase Ruby’s full sister, ‘Fantasy AMS’.

In the spring of 2009, Fantasy became a part of Genesis Farm. Following in the path of her older sister, we bred her to our AHR GOLD Classified and award winning stallion, Alfa of Genesis for a 2010 foal.

In July 2009, Fantasy completed her official AHR Inspection and Classification—she received 78 points. Not surprisingly, Fantasy’s and Ruby’s other full sister ‘Fair Lady AMS’ owned by Schlabach’s Haflingers, was also AHR inspected within the same week at a different inspection site and she scored 77 points. The quality of this mare line is unmistakable.

It is our sincere hope that Ruby can indirectly make an impact on the haflinger breed and Genesis Farm’s breeding program through the accomplishments of her sister, Fantasy, and then directly through their offspring.

Fantasy has embarked on her saddle training with AHR youth member, Molly Buis. After less than 30 days of saddle training, Molly and Fantasy competed at the New York Gold Classic. Fantasy was 1st place in the ‘Four and Five-Year-Old Mare’ halter class under one of the judges and then second place overall in the ‘Four and Five-Year-Old Championship Go for the Gold’ class, just behind our stallion, ‘Alfa of Genesis’. The duo pinned in most of their riding classes as well, which was pretty remarkable given in the limited amount of instruction Fantasy had completed under saddle prior to the show.

Fantasy and Molly also competed at the 2009 AHR National Show. Fantasy placed 2nd in the ‘Four and Five-Year-Old Mare’ halter class. She also won 3rd place in the ‘Senior Youth Showmanship’ class and earned several ribbons under saddle as well. Currently, Fantasy is Molly’s high school equestrian team mount and almost incredulously given that Fantasy has only been under saddle about 60 days, (Molly jokes that Fantasy was a show horse in a different life!) they are winning placings in the varsity riding classes in showmanship, huntseat and saddleseat!! Keep up the good work Molly and Fantasy!

September 2009 Update: Fantasy’s riding training with Molly is progressing quickly! Molly jokes that Fantasy must have been a show horse in a different life! With less than 30 days of saddle training, the duo pinned some riding classes at the New York Gold Classic in August. At the AHR National Show in September, they again earned their share of ribbons. Fantasy is spending the fall months as Molly’s varsity high school equestrian team mount!
