Mint Sensation Of Genesis

mintsensationMint Sensation of Genesis (AHR 31513-10) was born on April 20th 2010. Michele pronounced her as a filly after just seeing her feminine, delicate muzzle protruding from the birth canal shortly after the dam’s water broke! Mint Sensation quickly became dubbed as “Starburst” around the barn based on her star-shaped facial marking and also in keeping with the ‘candy themed’ barn names that we’ve given to all of her dam’s filly offspring.

Starburst was one of only 2 fillies and one of just 5 foals sired by Windstar van de Ooste born in the United States in 2010. Windstar is a 78-point AHR Silver Classified stallion (2009) that was imported from Holland by Genesis Farm. He boasts one of the strongest mare lines in Holland. His sire, Windspiel, was the Dutch Selection Champion.

Starburst’s dam is the great producing foundation broodmare at Genesis Farm, Mint Julep MLF. ‘Mint’ (and hence the whole candy-themed naming of her fillies) has a tradition of winning at the shows. She won her GLHA Futurity class every year from a weanling through a 2-year-old. Her sire is Nobleman of Tudor Oaks, a former AHR ‘National Champion Stallion’. Her dam is Moxie NTF who was the foundation broodmare for Bob and Bea Wallace of Meadow Lane Farms in Hemlock, Michigan, one of the early established and well-respected haflinger breeding farms. Mint consistently passes on her very clean bone structure and great movement and athleticism to her foals. To date, Mint has sired 6 foals—one colt and 5 fillies. But, Starburst is her first foal out of Windstar; her previous 5 foals have all been sired by Arno. Mint’s former offspring are, from oldest to youngest: Mint Edition MLF, Mint Tradition MLF, Mint Jubilee MLF, Antourage of Genesis, and Mint Celebration of Genesis. Mint’s foals also have a tradition of winning their futurity classes and they have never placed lower than 3rd place in their class. In fact, two of Mint’s foals have been former AHR ‘SIP Champions’!

Starburst is a leggy and very refined filly and she epitomizes the modern haflinger mare with elegance, refinement and cleanliness of bone that go along with superb athleticism and movement.

Starburst made her show ring debut at the 2010 AHR Futurity. She placed 3rd place in the very competitive Junior Weanling Filly class, just behind Aura of Genesis. She also placed in the top 10 out of over 20 entries in the competitive pleasure SIP class. Starburst is being offered for sale to an approved home.
