“Ulma” was imported from Austria as a weanling. She is sired by the world-renown sire, Alpenstein, who was the World Reserve Champion Stallion in 1995. Alpenstein is known for being a great producer of mares as select shows in Austria and throughout Europe are dominated by daughters of this great horse.
Ulma’s dam, Unita, is sired by Noah. Noah was a full brother to the great producing stallion, Nubucco.
As an Austrian imported mare, Ulma bears the prestigious TH brand on her left shoulder.
Ulma is a very athletic mare. She has an uphill build with a lot of thrust from behind. Her great propulsion from her hindquarters contributes to her ground-covering trot. Ulma is broke to ride and drive and was recently schooling in Training Level dressage. She was successfully shown under harness at the October 2008 GLHA Haflingerfest.
In July 2009, at 11 years of age, Ulma received her official AHR Inspection and Classification score. Ulma was scored at 77 points. She earned a ‘9’ for overall type, which we felt was significant for an 11-year-old mare that had already raised several foals.
With her outstanding pedigree, super athleticism and elevated build, combined with a bright metallic gold color, we feel that Ulma will make a fine addition to the broodmare herd at Genesis Farm. We would like to extend our thanks to Charlotte Ridge Haflinger Farm, Bob and Maxine McCrory, for selling Ulma to us.
